Two of my co workers went on the master cleanse lemonade cleanse. The diet as I read it suggests you go on it for ten days at a time. They went on it for forty days. I do not know what prompted them to do it for forty days. I left the company before they completed the diet but they had already gone on it for over a month by that time. It was a guy and a girl who did the lemonade cleanse.
The guy, although I only knew him briefly through work, was the type who walked around with a challenge chip on his shoulder. He was not looking for a fight so much as he was looking for a challenge all the time. He was the type of guy who would eat the weird looking bugs during school recess because someone dared him.
I would not be surprised if someone dared him to go on the lemonade cleanse. He did one better. He figured anyone could go for ten days on the diet, but he would set himself apart with forty days. The girl did it to support her friend and I think she wanted to lose some weight. Each day they would talk on the phone and give each other moral support.
The diet is all about ridding the body of toxins. You consume only lemon water, maple syrup, and salt water. It is the initial time of the diet when the body starts eliminating toxins. So you can expect vomiting and some digestive discomfort according to those who created the diet.
You may consider your life relatively clean. You might not smoke tobacco or consume booze, so you might not think you need to detoxify your body. But take a look at what you eat, at your diet.
If you eat chips, frozen processed dinners, fast food, trust that your body builds up toxins. If you drink regular or diet soda pop, trust your body is building up toxins. Remember the word smog? If you live in an area with a lot of automobile traffic, trust you are breathing in toxins. The opportunity for you to consume and build up toxins is a lot longer than this but you get the idea.
Fasting is a way to eliminate toxins from your system. Let me ask you have you ever missed a meal or two and then gone to bed for the night? How is your breath in the morning? Many people who are looking to detoxify their body are looking towards juice fasting.
