People are constantly on the go, we constantly rush, rush, and then rush some more. We need to learn to slow down and learn to appreciate the things that we take for granted. When you are constantly on the go, you do not take the time to try and eat right. You are consistently going through the McDonald’s drive thru, ordering off of the value menu, it’s time for everyone to eat in let’s be honest, you can eat well when you have a hearty selection of items priced between one buck and a buck fifty. There comes a time that you will have to ask yourself, what am I sacrificing by all of this drive thru eating at the local fast food joint?

When you eat in you are getting a more nutritious meal. You will get the more healthy meal, because it will be easier to touch upon the 4 basic four food groups. The four basic food groups are your meats, fruits and veggies, dairy, and breads. When you store these 4 groups in your mind, it will be easier to plan your eat in meals. You don’t have to sacrifice good food by eating in. You can grill a nice juicy t-bone steak, bake a potato, and top it off with a tall ice cold glass of milk. That is a good nutritious, yet tasty meal.

For those individuals who would prefer a restaurant cooked meal, there is a great option for you. Try calling your order in and going to pick it up. Takeaway food gives you almost the same option as eat in meals. One great thing about take away is that you may have a craving for pizza, but your significant other wants Chinese food.

Call ahead in order your pizza, on the way to pick it up, swing by the Chinese restaurant and place your order. Once you have your entire takeaway order head home. The greatest thing about eating this way is that everybody gets what they want, but most importantly, you are able to sit down and have a dinner like a family and not sacrifice your time together.

Eating inis a great way to spend time with your family. No matter how hectic the day is, this is your way to reconnect with your loved ones.

When you want to eat in leeds then you need to get some pizza takeaway leeds as soon as you can. Just ask Mr Menu , he knows

Have you ever wondered what you need to know in order to can your own foods? Maybe your garden was a little more productive than you had planned, and you need a way to preserve all those extra tomatoes, or peppers. Home canning is the perfect way to accomplish this. You will just need to know a few basics and then you can be on your way to canning your own fresh fruits and vegetables. Before you begin, you will need to sterilize all your canning jars and lids. This can be done by placing them in boiling water for 10 minutes.

The boiling water bath method requires you to have a large cook pot with a tight fitting lid. You should also have a rack to keep your jars from knocking against each other while they are in the cook pot. This rack system also allows for better processing as the water can flow more evenly around your jars. If you do not have a rack available, you may also use cotton towels set around your jars. This method is most often used for canning jams, jellies, tomatoes, and pickles. Gather your fruits at the peak of freshness, which is early in the morning and then decide on which packing method you will use.

Raw packing (cold packing) consists of placing the fruit into the jars and then covering them with boiling hot sugar syrup, water or juice. Be sure to leave a headspace at the top of the jar to allow for any expansion. Hot packing the jars is done by heating your fruit in the sugar syrup or water before packing it into the jars. Fruits with a high juice content or tomatoes can be heated without adding extra liquid and then packed in the juice that cooks out. Pack each jar leaving about ” of headspace and add more syrup if needed. Place your filled jars into the wire rack and lower into the boiling water so that each jar is covered by 1 or 2 inches of water. Cover the pot with your lid and when the water begins rapidly boiling, begin counting out your processing time.

The pressure cooker method is mostly used for canning vegetables, meats, seafood or poultry. A pressure cooker is a heavy pot that can be closed extremely tight. The lid will generally have a vent, a pressure gauge and a fuse. Many lids may also have a locking mechanism be sure the pressure remains at the set gauge. During the process, jars of food are placed inside the pressure cooker with about 2 – 3 inches of water. You will then heat the water to the boiling point which will build up the pressure inside the cooker. Once you have reached the correct pressure needed for whatever you are canning, you begin counting the processing time. The bacteria of Chlostridium botulinum is the reason many low acidic foods will need to be pressure cooked. Reaching the high temperatures will kill off the bacteria and keep your food safe.

When you are looking for home canning recipes, there are many cookbooks available, as well as checking with the Food and Agriculture Department or Cooperative Extension offices. The most important item to remember is to pick your fruits, vegetables and meats that you wish to can at their peak of freshness.

Addison is a mom, wife, and lover of the kitchen, who learned how to can food from an early age. She runs an informational website that provides reviews on pressure cookers and water bath canners, as well as canning recipes to share with others who enjoy preserving food. To take advantage of all these food storage secrets, you can check it out at www.howtocanfood.net

As your research has brought you here it's possible that either you're considering a career change into IT and you've heard good things about MCSE's, or you could already be in IT and you've realised that your career is blocked until your get the MCSE accreditation.

As your research has brought you here it\’s possible that either you\’re considering a career change into IT and you\’ve heard good things about MCSE\’s, or you could already be in IT and you\’ve realised that your career is blocked until your get the MCSE accreditation.

Be sure you see evidence that the training company you use is educating you on the latest Microsoft version. Many students get frustrated when they discover they\’ve been educated in an old version of MCSE which will need updating.

Computer training companies must be committed to finding the right path for aspiring trainees. Directing learning is equally about helping people to work out which direction to go in, as it is helping to help them get there.

Training support for students is an absolute must – find a program providing 24×7 full access, as anything else will annoy you and definitely impede your ability to learn.

Avoid those companies which use \’out-of-hours\’ messaging systems – where you\’ll get called back during the next \’working\’ day. This is no use if you\’re stuck and need an answer now.

The very best programs offer a web-based round-the-clock service pulling in several support offices over many time-zones. You will be provided with a single, easy-to-use environment that seamlessly selects the best facility available at any time of day or night: Support when it\’s needed.

Never compromise with the quality of your support. The vast majority of would-be IT professionals that throw in the towel, are in that situation because they didn\’t get the support necessary for them.

Many students come unstuck over a single training area which is often not even considered: The breakdown of the course materials before being delivered to your home.

Training companies will normally offer a program spread over 1-3 years, and deliver each piece one-by-one as you complete each section or exam. Sounds reasonable? Well consider these facts:

What could you expect if you didn\’t actually complete every section at the required speed? Often the prescribed exam order won\’t fit you as well as some other structure would for you.

For maximum flexibility and safety, it\’s normal for most trainees to make sure that every element of their training is sent immediately, and not in a piecemeal fashion. That means it\’s down to you in which order and at what speed you want to go.

One interesting way that colleges make a lot more is by charging for exams up-front then giving it \’Exam Guarantee\’ status. It looks impressive, but is it really:

It\’s very clear we\’re still paying for it – it\’s not so hard to see that it\’s already been included in the gross price invoiced by the training provider. Certainly, it\’s not a freebie – and it\’s insulting that we\’re supposed to think it is!

Those who go in for their examinations when it\’s appropriate, funding them one at a time are far more likely to pass first time. They\’re mindful of the cost and take the necessary steps to be ready for the task.

Do your exams at a local pro-metric testing centre and look for the very best offer you can at the time.

Huge profits are netted by a significant number of organisations that take the exam money up-front. For quite legitimate reasons, a number of students don\’t get to do their exams but the company keeps the money. Surprising as it sounds, there are providers who actually bank on it – and that\’s how they increase their profits.

You should fully understand that re-takes via training companies who offer an \’Exam Guarantee\’ are monitored with tight restrictions. They will insist that you take pre-tests first until you\’ve demonstrated an excellent ability to pass.

With average prices for VUE and Pro-metric exams in the United Kingdom costing around 112 pounds, by far the best option is to pay for them as you take them. It\’s not in the student\’s interests to fork out hundreds or thousands of pounds for exams when enrolling on a course. Consistent and systematic learning, coupled with quality exam simulation software is what will really see you through.

Accredited exam preparation packages are crucial – and absolutely ought to be obtained from your training supplier.

Ensure that the simulated exams are not only asking questions from the right areas, but ask them in the way that the actual final exam will structure them. This throws trainees if the phraseology and format is completely different.

For many reasons, it\’s very crucial to be confident that you are completely prepared for your actual certification exam prior to doing it. Rehearsing \’mock\’ tests helps build your confidence and helps to avoid unsuccessful attempts at exams.

CompTIA A+ consists of 4 training sections; you’re considered A+ competent when you’ve passed the test for half of them. This is the reason that the majority of training establishments only have two of the courses on their syllabus. In reality you’re advised to have the information on each subject as industry will demand an understanding of the whole A+ program. You don’t have to take all four exams, but we would recommend you study for all four areas.

If you decide to become a student on the A+ training program you will develop an understanding of how to work in antistatic conditions and build and fix computers. You’ll also cover fault-finding and diagnostic techniques, both remotely and via direct access.

Should you want to work towards looking after computer networks, you should add Network+ to the CompTIA A+ training you’re doing. Including Network+ will put you in a position to get a higher paid position. Alternatively, you may prefer the Microsoft networking qualifications (MCP, MCSA and MCSE).

We can guess that you probably enjoy fairly practical work – a ‘hands-on’ type. If you’re like us, the world of book-reading and classrooms is something you’ll force on yourself if you absolutely have to, but you really wouldn’t enjoy it. Consider interactive, multimedia study if book-based learning really isn’t your style.

If we’re able to get all of our senses involved in our learning, then the results are usually dramatically better.

The latest audio-visual interactive programs involving demonstration and virtual lab’s will beat books every time. And they’re far more fun.

You really need to look at courseware examples from any company that you may want to train through. It’s essential they incorporate video demo’s and interactive elements such as practice lab’s.

You should avoid purely online training. You want physical CD/DVD ROM course materials where possible, as you need to be able to use them whenever it’s convenient for you – ISP quality varies, so you don’t want to be totally reliant on your internet connection always being ‘up’ and available.

Validated exam preparation and simulation materials are vital – and really must be obtained from your course provider.

Sometimes people can get confused by practising exam questions that don’t come from the authorised examining boards. It’s not uncommon that the question formats and phraseology is startlingly different and you should be prepared for this.

Ensure that you verify your knowledge through tests and simulated exams prior to taking the real thing.

Most people don’t even think to ask about a vitally important element – how their training provider actually breaks down and delivers the courseware, and into how many bits.

Many companies enrol you into some sort of program spread over 1-3 years, and send out each piece as you complete each exam. This sounds reasonable until you consider the following:

Maybe the order of study offered by the provider doesn’t suit. You may find it a stretch to finalise each and every section within the time limits imposed?

To provide the maximum security and flexibility, it’s normal for most trainees to make sure that every element of their training is posted to them in one go, with nothing held back. It’s then your own choice in which order and at what speed you want to work.

Does job security truly exist anymore? In the UK for instance, with industry changing its mind at alarming speeds, it seems increasingly unlikely.

Security only exists now in a rapidly increasing marketplace, fuelled by a shortfall of trained staff. It’s this alone that creates the correct background for a secure marketplace – a more attractive situation all round.

The Information Technology (IT) skills deficit in the United Kingdom is standing at approx 26 percent, as noted by the latest e-Skills survey. To put it another way, this highlights that the UK can only find three qualified staff for each four job positions that are available now.

Gaining in-depth commercial IT certification is accordingly an effective route to succeed in a long-lasting and enjoyable livelihood.

Actually, retraining in Information Technology throughout the next year or two is very likely the best choice of careers you could make.

As you’re considering studying for an MCSE, it’s probable that you fall into one of the following categories. You’re either just starting to come into the computer world, and you’ve found the industry has a great need for men and women who are commercially qualified. Alternatively you might be a knowledgeable person wanting to gain accreditation with a qualification such as MCSE.

When researching training companies, steer clear of those who cut costs by not upgrading their courses to the latest version from Microsoft. Overall, this will cost the student much more as they will have been educated in an outdated MCSE program which will have to be revised pretty much straight away.

A company’s mission statement must be based upon doing the most for their students, and they should care greatly about getting things right. Working towards an MCSE isn’t just about the certification – the process must also include guiding you on the most suitable route for you.

Charging for examination fees as an inclusive element of the package price then giving it ‘Exam Guarantee’ status is a common method with a good many training companies. However, let’s consider what’s really going on:

You’ll pay for it one way or another. You can be assured it’s not a freebie – it’s simply been shoe-horned into the price as a whole.

Those who go in for their examinations when it’s appropriate, funding them one at a time are in a much stronger position to qualify at the first attempt. They’re aware of their investment and so are more inclined to ensure they are ready.

Don’t you think it’s more sensible to not pay up-front, but at the time, not to pay the fees marked up by the training college, and also to sit exams more locally – instead of the remote centre that’s convenient only to the trainer?

A lot of extra profit is made by a significant number of organisations who incorporate exam fees into the cost of the course. A number of students don’t take them for various reasons but no refunds are given. Believe it or not, there are companies around who actually bank on it – as that’s where a lot of their profit comes from.

The majority of companies will insist on pre-tests and prohibit you from re-taking an exam until you’ve completely proven that you’re likely to pass – which actually leaves you with no guarantee at all.

Average exam fees were around the 112 pounds mark last year when taken at VUE or Pro-metric centres in the UK. Therefore, why splash out often many hundreds of pounds extra for ‘an Exam Guarantee’, when common sense dictates that the most successful method is study, commitment and preparing with good quality mock and practice exams.

At the top of your shopping list for a training program should be proper direct-access 24×7 support via dedicated instructors and mentors. So many companies we come across only provide office hours (or extended office hours) support.

Avoid those companies who use call-centres ‘out-of-hours’ – where an advisor will call back during the next ‘working’ day. It’s not a lot of help when you’ve got study issues and need an answer now.

We recommend looking for training schools that use several support centres from around the world. All of them should be combined to give a single entry point and round-the-clock access, when you want it, with no hassle.

Look for a trainer that is worth purchasing from. As only true round-the-clock 24×7 support truly delivers for technical programs.

An advisor that doesn’t dig around with lots of question – chances are they’re just trying to sell you something. If they push a particular product before learning about your history and experience, then you know you’re being sold to.

Often, the starting point of study for someone with a little experience is often hugely different to someone just starting out.

Opening with a basic PC skills course first may be the ideal way to start into your IT program, but depends on your skill level.

Accredited exam simulation and preparation packages are crucial – and really must be supplied by your training company.

Steer clear of depending on unauthorised preparation materials for exams. The terminology of their questions is sometimes startlingly different – and this leads to huge confusion in the actual examination.

Practice exams can be invaluable in helping you build your confidence – so that when you come to take the real thing, you won’t be worried.

When you decide upon a computer training program it is very important that the certification you will gain is up to date with commercial requirements. Additionally, you should make sure that the subject is right for you, your personality and abilities.

When you decide upon a computer training program it is very important that the certification you will gain is up to date with commercial requirements. Additionally, you should make sure that the subject is right for you, your personality and abilities.

Whether it’s office skills you’re looking to polish up on, or have ambitions to get IT qualifications at a professional level, there are user-friendly courses and assistance to turn your goals into reality.

By using modern training methods and keeping costs to a minimum, there’s a new style of course provider supplying a superior brand of training and mentoring for hundreds of pounds less.

The perhaps intimidating chore of finding your first IT job is often eased by some companies, via a Job Placement Assistance programme. Don’t get overly impressed with this service – it isn’t unusual for training companies to make too much of it. The fact of the matter is, the huge shortage of staff in this country is why employers will be interested in you.

Update your CV at the beginning of your training though (advice can be sought on this via your provider). Don’t procrastinate and leave it till you’ve finished your exams.

It’s not unusual to find that you’ll land your first role while still studying (even in the early stages). If your CV doesn’t say what you’re learning – or it’s not getting in front of interviewers, then you don’t stand a chance!

The top companies to help you find a job are normally local IT focused employment agencies. As they will get paid by the employer when they’ve placed you, they’ll work that much harder to get a result.

A slight grievance for a number of training course providers is how much people are focused on studying to get qualified, but how un-prepared they are to work on getting the role they’ve acquired skills for. Have confidence – the IT industry needs YOU.

Most people don’t even think to ask about something of absolutely vital importance – how their training provider actually breaks down and delivers the training materials, and into how many separate packages.

Many companies enrol you into a program spread over 1-3 years, and deliver each piece one-by-one as you complete each exam. This sounds reasonable until you consider the following:

Students often discover that the company’s ’standard’ path of training is not what they would prefer. It’s often the case that it’s more expedient to use an alternative order of study. And what if you don’t get to the end within their exact timetable?

To be in the best situation you would have all the learning modules posted to your home before you even start; every single thing! This prevents any future issues from rising that will affect your capacity to get everything done.

Working on progressive developments in new technology gives you the best job satisfaction ever. Your actions are instrumental in impacting progress around the world.

Technological changes and communication through the web is going to radically affect the way we live our lives over the coming years; incredibly so.

Wages in the IT sector aren’t to be ignored also – the average salary over this country as a whole for the usual IT employee is a lot higher than in other market sectors. Chances are that you’ll earn a much greater package than you could reasonably hope to get in other industries.

It’s no secret that there is a substantial national need for certified IT specialists. In addition, with the marketplace continuing to expand, it appears there’s going to be for the significant future.

Authorised exam simulation and preparation packages are vital – and absolutely ought to be offered by your course provider.

Make sure that your practice exams haven’t just got questions from the right areas, but additionally ask them in the exact format that the real exams will structure them. This really messes up people if the phraseology and format is completely different.

Mock exams are invaluable as a resource to you – so much so, that at the proper exam, you don’t get uptight.

Should you be looking for Microsoft certified training, you'll obviously be expecting training companies to offer a wide range of some of the top training programs to be had.

Should you be looking for Microsoft certified training, you’ll obviously be expecting training companies to offer a wide range of some of the top training programs to be had.

You’ll want to consider all the options with somebody who is on familiar terms with the commercial needs of the market, and has the ability to guide you towards the best kind of work to suit your abilities and character.

Courses should be customised to suit your current level of knowledge and ability. Consequently, having got to grips with the most appropriate area of work for you, your next requirement is the relevant route that will equip you for the role.

Finding your first job in the industry can be a little easier with the help of a Job Placement Assistance service. Don’t get overly impressed with this service – it’s quite easy for companies marketing departments to make it sound harder than it is. Ultimately, the massive skills shortage in the United Kingdom is what will enable you to get a job.

Update your CV at the beginning of your training though – look to your training company for advice on how to do this. Don’t procrastinate and leave it until you’ve graduated or passed any exams.

It’s possible that you won’t have even passed your first exam when you will get your initial junior support position; yet this isn’t going to happen unless your CV is with employers.

Actually, a specialist locally based employment agency (who will get paid commission to place you) is going to give you a better service than a recruitment division from a training organisation. In addition, they will no doubt be familiar with the area and local employers better.

A good number of students, it would appear, invest a great deal of time on their training course (for years sometimes), and then just stop instead of looking for the right position. Promote yourself… Do everything you can to get yourself known. Don’t expect a job to just fall into your lap.

Some training companies will only offer basic 9am till 6pm support (maybe a little earlier or later on certain days); very few go late in the evening or at weekends.

You’ll be waiting ages for an answer with email based support, and so-called telephone support is normally just routed to a call-centre who will take the information and email an instructor – who will attempt to call you within 24-48 hrs, when it suits them. This isn’t a lot of good if you’re lost and confused and only have certain times available in which to do your studies.

Keep your eyes open for colleges that use several support centres around the globe in several time-zones. These should be integrated to offer a simple interface as well as 24×7 access, when you want it, with no hassle.

Never make do with less than this. Direct-access round-the-clock support is really your only option when it comes to IT study. Maybe burning the midnight-oil is not your thing; usually though, we’re at work at the time when most support is available.

Beginning from the viewpoint that we have to home-in on the area of most interest first, before we can even mull over which training program fulfils our needs, how are we supposed to find the way that suits us?

I mean, if you don’t have any know-how of IT in the workplace, how can you expect to know what someone in a particular field fills their day with? Let alone decide on what educational path would be most appropriate for ultimate success.

To get through to the essence of this, a discussion is necessary, covering many unique issues:

* What nature of person you consider yourself to be – the tasks that you find interesting, and don’t forget – what you hate to do.

* Why it seems right getting involved with Information Technology – is it to overcome some personal goal like working for yourself for instance.

* The income requirements that are important to you?

* Always think in-depth about the time expected to gain all the necessary accreditation.

* It makes sense to understand what differentiates the myriad of training options.

For most people, considering these areas requires a good chat with an advisor who has direct industry experience. And not just the certifications – but the commercial requirements of the market as well.

Beware of putting too much emphasis, as a lot of students can, on the training process. Your training isn’t about getting a plaque on your wall; this is about gaining commercial employment. Begin and continue with the end in mind.

Don’t let yourself become one of the unfortunate masses who choose a training program that seems ‘fun’ or ‘interesting’ – and end up with a certification for a job they hate.

Spend some time thinking about the income level you aspire to and whether you’re an ambitious person or not. This can often control what particular qualifications will be expected and how much effort you’ll have to give in return.

Obtain help from an industry professional who ‘gets’ the commercial realities of the area you’re interested in, and who can give you ‘A typical day in the life of’ outline of of what you’ll be doing day-to-day. It makes good sense to discover if this is the right course of action for you well before you embark on your training program. There’s really no point in beginning your training only to realise you’ve made a huge mistake.

Computer training for CompTIA A+ covers 4 different sectors – the requirement is exam passes in two of these areas to reach the level of A+ competent. This is why, most training providers simply provide 2 of the training options. We think this is too much of a compromise – yes you’ll have qualified, but experience of all four will give you a distinct advantage in industry, where you’ll need to know about all of them. That’s the reason why you deserve training in everything.

Once you start your A+ training course you’ll become familiar with how to build computers and fix them, and work in antistatic conditions. Diagnostic techniques and fault finding are also on the syllabus, as is remote access.

If you feel it appropriate to add Network+ training, you will additionally be able to assist with or manage networks of computers, allowing you to move further up the career path.

We’re regularly asked to explain why academic qualifications are being replaced by more commercial certificates?

Key company training (to use industry-speak) is far more effective and specialised. The IT sector has realised that this level of specialised understanding is essential to cope with a technically advancing commercial environment. CISCO, Adobe, Microsoft and CompTIA are the big boys in this field.

They do this through focusing on the actual skills required (along with a relevant amount of associated knowledge,) rather than trawling through all the background detail and ‘fluff’ that degree courses often do (to fill up a syllabus or course).

Assuming a company understands what they’re looking for, then they just need to look for someone with a specific qualification. Syllabuses all have to conform to the same requirements and do not vary between trainers (like academia frequently can and does).

Working on revolutionary new technology is about as exciting as it can get. You’re involved with impacting progress around the world.

We’ve barely started to get a feel for how technology will define our world. Computers and the Internet will significantly transform how we regard and interact with the world around us over the coming decades.

Should lifestyle be up there on your list of priorities, then you will appreciate the fact that the income on average of the majority of IT staff is significantly greater than with other market sectors.

The need for appropriately qualified IT professionals is certain for the significant future, because of the ongoing growth in the technology industry and the very large deficiency that we still have.

Beware of putting too much emphasis, like so many people do, on the accreditation program. Training is not an end in itself; you should be geared towards the actual job at the end of it. You need to remain focused on where you want to go.

It’s a terrible situation, but a large percentage of students start out on programs that sound fabulous in the marketing materials, but which gets us a career that is of no interest. Try talking to typical college leavers and you’ll see where we’re coming from.

You also need to know your feelings on career progression and earning potential, and if you’re ambitious or not. It’s vital to know what the role will demand of you, what particular accreditations they want you to have and how to develop your experience.

Our recommendation would be to always seek guidance and advice from an experienced professional before making your final decision on a particular training program, so there’s no doubt that the chosen route will give you the appropriate skill-set.

Have a conversation with a skilled consultant and we’d be amazed if they couldn’t provide you with many awful tales of students who’ve been conned by dodgy salespeople. Only deal with an experienced industry professional who digs deep to uncover the best thing for you – not for their paycheque! It’s very important to locate the very best place to start for you.

Often, the level to start at for a trainee experienced in some areas can be massively different to the student with no experience.

Working through a basic PC skills course first may be the ideal way to commence your IT training, depending on your skill level at the moment.

Should you fancy a web design career, then it's critical to study Adobe Dreamweaver.

Should you fancy a web design career, then it’s critical to study Adobe Dreamweaver.

Additionally, it’s good practice that you gain an in-depth and thorough understanding of the full Adobe Web Creative Suite, including Flash and Action Script, to have the facility to facilitate Dreamweaver as a commercial web-designer. This can mean later becoming either an Adobe Certified Professional (ACP) or an Adobe Certified Expert (ACE).

Designing the website is just one aspect of the skills needed by web professionals today. It’s a good idea to look for a course that incorporates subjects such as E-Commerce, SEO (Search Engine Optimisation,) in order to understand the way to drive traffic, maintain content and work with dynamic sites that are database driven.

Some training providers only provide support available from 9-6 (office hours) and sometimes later on specific days; most won’t answer after 8-9pm at the latest and frequently never at the weekends.

Never buy study programmes that only provide support to students via a message system outside of normal office hours. Colleges will always try to hide the importance of this issue. Essentially – you want to be supported when you need the help – not when it suits them.

The most successful trainers utilise several support facilities active in different time-zones. They use an online interactive interface to link them all seamlessly, any time of the day or night, help is just seconds away, with no hassle or contact issues.

Look for a trainer that is worth purchasing from. As only true round-the-clock 24×7 support truly delivers for technical programs.

Don’t forget: the training course or an accreditation is not the ultimate goal; the particular job that you want is. A lot of colleges seem to completely prioritise the certificate itself.

Don’t be part of that group who set off on a track which looks like it could be fun – only to end up with a qualification for something they’ll never enjoy.

Take time to understand your feelings on career progression and earning potential, and whether you intend to be quite ambitious. You should understand what will be expected of you, what qualifications will be required and how to develop your experience.

Take guidance from an experienced industry professional, even if you have to pay – it’s usually much cheaper and safer to investigate at the start if a chosen track will suit, rather than find out following two years of study that you aren’t going to enjoy the job you’ve chosen and now need to go back to square one.

Many people question why traditional degrees are being overtaken by more commercial qualifications?

Industry now acknowledges that to learn the appropriate commercial skills, the right accreditation from such organisations as Adobe, Microsoft, CISCO and CompTIA most often has much more specialised relevance – saving time and money.

Clearly, a necessary quantity of closely linked information must be covered, but essential specialisation in the required areas gives a vendor educated student a massive advantage.

Think about if you were the employer – and you needed to take on someone with a very particular skill-set. Which is the most straightforward: Pore through a mass of different academic qualifications from graduate applicants, asking for course details and which commercial skills they have, or select a specialised number of commercial certifications that exactly fulfil your criteria, and then select who you want to interview from that. You can then focus on how someone will fit into the team at interview – rather than establishing whether they can do a specific task.

A service provided by many trainers is a programme of Job Placement assistance. This is to assist your search for your first position. Because of the huge shortage of skills in this country at the moment, there isn’t a great need to become overly impressed with this service however. It’s actually not as hard as some people make out to get employment once you’re well trained and qualified.

However, what is relevant is to have advice and support about your CV and interviews though; also we would encourage all students to update their CV as soon as training commences – don’t put it off until you’ve graduated or passed any exams.

You might not even have taken your exams when you land your first junior support job; but this is not possible if your CV isn’t in front of employers.

Normally you’ll get quicker service from a specialist independent regional employment service than any course provider’s centralised service, as they will be more familiar with the area and local employers.

A big grievance of many training course providers is how hard people are focused on studying to pass exams, but how ill-prepared they are to market themselves for the job they’re qualified for. Get out there and hustle – you might find it’s fun.

In the UK today, industry would struggle were it not for support workers mending networks and computers, while advising users on a day to day basis. As we get to grips with the daunting complexities of technology, greater numbers of trained staff are being sought to dedicate themselves to the various different areas we rely on.

You have to be sure that all your accreditations are current and also valid commercially – forget studies which provide certificates that are worthless because they’re ‘in-house’.

Only nationally recognised examinations from the likes of Microsoft, Cisco, Adobe and CompTIA will open the doors to employers.

Starting from the idea that it’s necessary to find the job we want to do first, before we’re able to mull over which method of training fulfils our needs, how do we decide on the right path?

As having no commercial skills in computing, in what way could we be expected to know what someone in a particular job does?

To get through to the essence of this, we need to discuss a number of different aspects:

* Personality factors plus what interests you – the sort of work-oriented areas please or frustrate you.

* Why you want to consider stepping into Information Technology – maybe you’d like to achieve some personal goal like self-employment for instance.

* Is salary further up on your list of priorities than other requirements.

* Considering all that computing encapsulates, it’s important to be able to absorb the differences.

* Taking a good look into the effort, commitment and time that you’re going to put into it.

The best way to avoid the barrage of jargon, and discover the best route for you, have an in-depth discussion with an advisor with years of experience; someone who can impart the commercial reality while explaining the accreditations.

The way a programme is physically sent to you is often missed by many students. How many stages do they break the program into? And in what order and do you have a say in when you’ll get each part?

Often, you’ll enrol on a course taking 1-3 years and receive one element at a time until graduation. It seems to make sense on one level, but consider these issues:

With thought, many trainees understand that their providers typical path to completion isn’t ideal for them. They might find varying the order of study will be far more suitable. And what if you don’t get to the end at the pace they expect?

The ideal solution is to have all the learning modules couriered to your home before you even start; the complete package! This way, nothing can happen down the line which could affect your ability to finish.

Commercially accredited qualifications are now, very visibly, starting to replace the older academic routes into the IT sector – why then is this?

Key company training (to use industry-speak) is far more effective and specialised. The IT sector has acknowledged that specialisation is what’s needed to handle a technically advancing workplace. Microsoft, CISCO, Adobe and CompTIA are the dominant players.

Clearly, a reasonable degree of relevant additional information needs to be taught, but essential specialised knowledge in the exact job role gives a commercially trained student a huge edge.

When it comes down to the nitty-gritty: Authorised IT qualifications let employers know exactly what you’re capable of – the title is a complete giveaway: for example, I am a ‘Microsoft Certified Professional’ in ‘Designing Security for a Windows 2003 Network’. Consequently companies can look at the particular needs they have and what certifications are required to perform the job.
