Tanning Pills – The Truth

Saturday, December 19th, 2009

There are definitely a lot of people who worship the sun for its ability to give them a better skin colour. When you think about this, it is quite obvious, that these people are looking for ways that they can obtain a suntanned skin.

The methods that some people employ in order to get a suntanned skin include getting a tan outdoors from the sun itself, but also, tanning beds, tanning booths, spray on tanners, self tanning lotions and tanning pills. In part, the decision which of these methods you choose, depends on the length of time that you can give up to get a perfect tan.

Some people go for tanning pills, but in reality, they work a little differently from the other, more usual methods. For example, lotions work by spreading some of the liquid, usually oil based, on various sections of your body. It is your choice which parts of you, you want to change the colour of. However, tanning pills need to be taken orally and so will affect the whole of your body. Also, you will have to choose which tanning pills to use, because, unlike lotions, if you use tanning pills, you will have fewer colour choices.

You should be well aware of this important point, because you will need to choose a depth of tan that does not differ too unflatteringly with the colour of other parts of your body like your hair, eyes, lips, etc. You can buy these tanning pills in the same shops as you buy your other tanning supplies.

You must however consult the label to find out if there are any precautions you will need to take. For example, one of the most important safety measures that you can take, is to see if you might have an allergic reaction to the tanning pills.

Besides this though, you might also want to find out exactly what all the media hype over tanning pills is all about. This research will also help you to decide which of the different tanning pills on the market is the right one for you. In addition, if you look on the Internet, you will get the statistics on the number of people who have developed problems after using these tablets. At this point in time, you will discover that there are three firm favourites when it comes to tanning pills.

These tanning pills are called EluSun, Deep Tan and Mayan Secrets. The main ingredient for two of these makes is carerenoids. This substance causes the top layer of skin to turn a pinkish colour. The colour might darken over time, but it is necessary for you to keep taking these pills for as long as you require the tan.

The main disadvantage of tanning pills is that these pills are just as risky to your health as sun bathing on the beach for hours at a stretch. Once you have found out all the details you can, you will have to make your mind up whether taking tanning pills is worth the risk to your health, just to have bronzed skin colour.

Trains In Seattle Bring Out The Inner Child

Saturday, December 5th, 2009

Boys and girls of all ages like trains and train sets. They have played a vital role in the history of this country and Seattle, Washington and the Northwest in particular. In fact, the roles of trains in this region of the country have in the past been so critical that there are a few museums devoted to them. Trains were essential lifelines for the people here for many years. While their importance seems to be diminishing in today’s society, their importance throughout the history of our country remains.

If you truly are a train enthusiast, then it should not be difficult to talk you into stopping by Seattle’s Train Center before and after touring the museums devoted to trains and their vital role in history. The Train Center offers a wide selection of model train parts and pieces that would make excellent additions to your train set or a great beginning for a train set for you or your kids.

After you’ve whetted your appetite for trains and gotten your child all keyed up about them, it is time to take a walk back in time to the Northwest Railway Museum. Here you can learn about railway history or even choose to take a ride on one of the trains that departs on several excursions throughout the day. Most of the trips are 65-75 minutes long and are a remarkable treat for young and old alike. Perhaps the greatest thing about this museum is that its main objective is to educate the public about the important role that railroads had in the development of this part of the country.

If you’re really interested in sharing your affection for trains with the ones you love, you may consider taking a spin on the Spirit of Washington Dinner Train. This is a great way to not only get the experience of travelling the rails but to take in some of the beautiful Washington scenery and have a gourmet meal in the process. During the months of November through to April up to two children may ride free with a paying adult.

There are certain limitations on the type of seating, but it is a splendid way to enjoy the experience at a vastly reduced price. There are also exclusive events such as Murder Mystery Trains and Magic and Illusion shows in addition to certain holiday events as well. Be sure to check out what is going on while you are visiting Seattle and see if this is something that might interest you and your family.

If you are up for a not so short drive to Pasco (about three and a half hours from Seattle), you might find the Washington State Railroads Historical Society Museum well worth the trip. Be sure to keep in mind that the museum is only open on Saturday and that the hours are limited so this is a trip you need to plan in advance. The greatest thing about this museum to me is the fact that there are lovely little stories, like the blackboard that recorded the first snowfall at the depot each year and others such as this.

It is the short stories that do not necessarily make history that do make lasting impressions and I am happy to see this particular story is being shared. Just remember, when visiting any of these depots, museums, and train excursions that you definitely must bring your inner child with you in order to enjoy them as you should.

Owen Jones, the author of this article, writes on a lot of topics, but is presently involved with train sets for kids. If you would like to know more about train sets for kids, please go over to our website for some great offers.

Trendy Dog Names

Tuesday, December 1st, 2009

Fashion seems to dictate everything these days. From what you wear to what you call your dog, everything you do is decreed by the need to be fashionable. Cute dog names are hard to come by and even harder to choose. This is because as soon as something is in fashion, than it is out again.

Who would want to pick a cool dog name that may not be fashionable next year? People usually play it safe as a result, which is why the same names have been so popular for so long. To try and break that cycle, five cute dog names are given below with our reasons why you should pick one of them for your dog.

Phoenix: What could be cuter than a bird that goes up in flames, but then rises from the ashes? Phoenix is one of the cute dog names that will never go out of fashion because it is rooted in history. It has a timeless air about it, which has somewhat surprisingly failed to boost its popularity.

Star: Star is one of the cool dog names because it has so many connotations that you can have a hard time finding out where to begin. A star in the sky is a phenomenon and a star can refer to someone that excels in a particular field. It is indeed a high form of praise and so is definitely a cool dog name.

Lady: Lady is one of the most popular dog names but it is also one of the cool dog names because of Disney. Lady and the Tramp was a huge hit and made the name popular but also gave it some credibility. In this case popularity is second to coolness.

Elvis: The coolest of cute dog names. Elvis Presley was undoubtedly cool and remains cool today even after his death. It is infinitely cool to name your dog after such a tremendous star who never goes out of fashion himself.

Shadow: There is a dark and ethereal quality about Shadow that makes it a cool dog name. It would be best used on a large breed of dog though, because it wouldn’t have the same strong effect with a small one.

Whatever cool dog names you consider for your pooch, it is a certain method of giving your dog an identity of its own and your dog rememberable to others.

How to Choose Golf Shoes

Friday, November 27th, 2009

Your swing could well change, your accuracy and distance will definitely improve with practice, and you’ll become deadly accurate with at putting, but you will always do all these things while you are standing on your feet in your shoes.

So, your feet need to be comfortable! Have you ever got a blister while walking or running? It’s all you can think about and it ruins the experience of what you are doing. Don’t let uncomfortable shoes ruin your game of golf.

This is one area where you shouldn’t let your natural frugality make the decision for you. You will be wearing these shoes many times over a long period of time and they should be considered a good investment in your game of golf.

Comfortability, not expense, should be your biggest concern when you are purchasing any shoes, not only golf shoes. Your foot should not move at all at the heel when you walk, but your toes shouldn’t feel at all constrained. Be sure to have your shoes fitted professionally and walk around in them before you actually buy them.

Serious golf shoes should also be waterproof, so that your feet stay dry in damp conditions. Good socks are important too as they will draw perspiration away from you feet, keeping your feet dry and comfortable.

All golf courses prohibit metal spiked shoes in the effort to protect their delicate greens. Purchase shoes that allow you to change the rubber spikes easily, and while you’re there, purchase some extra spikes. You never know when you might lose one. You should also replace the spikes when they become worn.

You have a lot of things to worry about when you are playing your round of golf, but your feet shouldn’t be one of them. When it comes to golf shoes, quality counts, honestly.

If you are thinking about buying new golf shoes, or if you are just into your game of golf, please go to our website called Golfing Tips for Beginners Get a totally unique version of this article from our article submission service

Animals, Fleas, Ticks and Worms

Thursday, November 26th, 2009

Fleas and other parasites need always to be awarded the top priority by dog owners. The all too common occurrences of flea bite allergy in the case of dogs causes concern to many dog owners every year. This is because flea bites can induce allergic reactions in the area bitten by the fleas. In these cases, the affected area becomes hairless due to the dog scratching itself vigorously.

Heavy flea infestations can cause severe dermatitis in dogs, because the dog will scratch and scratch the area until he bleeds and can also introduce infection. If the flea bites produce an allergic reaction or even dermatitis in your dog, he/she really ought to be taken to the veterinary doctor as soon as possible, because usually, the dog will be suffering extreme discomfort by this time.

The vet will provide you a salve to soothe the itching and reduce the inflammation and some powder or a spray to kill the fleas. Prevention is better than cure and medicated collars are available to treat and prevent an infestation of external parasites like ticks and fleas.

Besides fleas, other parasites like ticks and lice plus internal parasites like hookworm, round worm, whip worms etc. can affect the well-being of your dog. For example, if hookworms infect a dog, that dog will usually be anaemic. The signs of anaemia become more prominent according to the degree of infection by the hookworm.

Hookworm larvae can pass directly through the skin and cause problems inside the affected dogs. Such dogs may have lesions due to dermatitis on the paws and on the skin. Frequently, skin rashes are the result in such cases and the affected animal passes loose stools, which are tinged red with blood.

Most dogs and all puppies get round worms, which is why dogs can sometimes be seen rubbing their bottoms along the ground. However, if round worms are present in very large numbers, affected puppies show a pot belly, which is easily noticeable by the dog’s owners themselves. A dose of piperazine salts can be given orally for the treatment of this problem. However, broad-spectrum anthelmintics like pyrantel pamoate, fenbendazole etc. are also used to treat this very common condition.

Many drugs have arrived on the market to treat fleas and other parasites, although nowadays, the medical agent called ivermectin seems to be preferred by many dog owners to treat fleas and other parasites in dogs. This drug is available for injection or oral use and is now even available for external application too.
